When we talk about infections or health in general as regards ladies, what usually comes in handy, is to know when what you’re experiencing is unusual to what used to be your normal.
It’s essential to know everyone is different and as such the experiences differ. One of the major problems you’re likely to be faced with is discomfort- from the discharge, itching, unpleasant odor, and the likes.
But you need to know what is normal, to differentiate from what isn’t:
- It is normal for a lady to have a vaginal discharge, as the vagina cleanses itself. Hence, the discharge commonly should be whitish, a normal odor could be thick, clear, and sticky at times. If there be any slight change could be as a result of ovulation, exercise, or sexual feelings, and this is quite normal.
- If you ever notice unusual colors (yellowish, brown), an abnormal smell (fishy), or the increase in discharge, or a cheesy, soapy discharge, and as such result into the use of pads. Itchy sensation, a burning pain, blisters or sores, pain during sex, or any of that nature, you may likely be suffering from an infection.

What you need to know about re-current infections:
If you’ve read the first part of this article, it was clearly stated that what is thought to be a toilet infection is a vaginal infection, as it is most likely not gotten from the toilet.
The majority of ladies suffer from reoccurrence because they haven’t come to terms with the fact that they never got infected from the toilet in the first place.
Here, I would be explaining what most likely could be a cause to the lower genital tract infections:
- Vaginal Candidiasis: is a yeast infection known as candida. It is estimated to be the second most common type of vaginal infection. Candida appears normally in the body i.e. (mouth, gut, vagina), and even on the skin without posing any problem.
However, candida can result in an infection if the environment in the vagina inhibits its growth. If you experience a curdy or watery white discharge that smells like yeast, itching, soreness, it could be a result of this fungal infection.
- Bacterial Vaginosis: is also known as vaginal bacteriosis. It is said to be the most common cause of vaginal infection in women of childbearing age. While it is not a sexually transmitted infection (STI), it can increase the risk of developing one. Vagina discharge could be watery and thin, having an unpleasant odor, and could also be symptomless.
- Trichomoniasis: fondly called trich, is a common sexually transmitted disease (STD). Severe itching, yellowish or greenish discharge with an unpleasant odor, itching, burning, or redness are some of the symptoms felt.
What you should do if you have an infection:
In all honesty, with the way infection is perceived they are quite some similar symptoms exhibited that are generally classified as infections. However, with the aid of proper diagnosis and tests, your doctor could help identify the root cause.
In conclusion, one of the reasons you’ve been putting up with a recurrent infection is major because you have never gotten to the root of what causes your infection. If you, however, want to get to the root of what is wrong. Do not hesitate to contact us. Please, feel free to share.
